What does club membership involve?

Who is involved in our club

  • The Dunedin Curling Club consists of an active group of enthusiastic and passionate curlers

  • We have members of all ages, from school-aged upwards

  • We have members of involved at various levels of the sport - beginner curlers, social curlers through the competitive curlers

Where our club meets

  • Our club meets at the Dunedin Ice Stadium, 101 Victoria Road, St Clair where we have access to an excellent indoor ice rink facility and also meeting rooms

 

Information about our club season

  • Curling is typically a winter sport

  • The club season runs from April through to September each year

​

About our club activities throughout the season

  • Our club holds regular weekly practice sessions during the season.  These are usually held on Monday nights

  • There is the opportunity to participate in a number of curling competitions throughout the season

​

Outdoor curling

  • Through our various club affiliations, when ice conditions allow, there is the opportunity to participate in outdoor curling on natural ice at locations such as Naseby and Alexandra

​

Affiliations of the Dunedin Curling Club

  • Our club is affiliated to the Naseby Curling Council and the New Zealand Curling Association

  • Our club is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005

​

Club membership costs

Annual club membership fees

  • Adult: $50

  • Junior (aged under 20): $25

  • Associate member (via membership at another club: $25

​

The club year is from 1 April to 31 March

​

Note that ice hire fees are payable in addition to the above membership fees

​

Curling Have a Go sessions

Not fully sure about committing to joining our club yet?  Check out this information about our Have a Go sessions:

  • Our club normally hold one or two 'Have a Go' sessions before the seasons starts

  • These sessions are an ideal opportunity for you to meet our members and to have a try at curling

  • Get in contact with us to find out more information!

For school-aged children, the Otago Secondary Schools Sports association run school curling competitions throughout winter - see link below for further information
